Sheila, I was salivating when I finished reading this entry! This fair is sooooo French, compared to the Tulsa State Fair which was always huge--kids got a day off school to go to the fair. Corn dogs, Indian tacos, and carnival rides. And the animals of course. Gorgeous cow in that photo (the top one...)

Pat, I remember my grandmother showing me how to milk the cows on her farm, pressing my forehead up against the flank of the cow. But I never liked the warm milk fresh from the source. Wonder if I'd be tempted today.

After living in Springfield, Illinois, home of the largest agricultural state fair, my kids still plan their trips back to Springfield to coincide with the fair. Oh how we love those beautiful animals!
